There are plenty of unique and beautiful places in Oman that rival famous landmarks and monuments in other countries, yet most local residents are either unaware of them or have vague collection of what they are and how to get there (including myself!). I started this blog in order to share some of the fantastic places worth visiting in Oman, both for locals and potential tourists.
Hi all, and thank you for checking OmanTripper. I am an engineer and a couch potato on weekdays, who also happens to be very passionate about nature, the outdoors and photography. Having lived in New Zealand for over 7 years, I started exploring the Omani outdoors with my friend Riyadh after my return home, and that is how we decided to start OmanTripper in 2012. I try to go on a trip every other weekend, and at least once a month – and I can never quite catch up on writing about the places I’ve been to. I am also a licensed tour-guide in Oman, and will be happy to arrange a guided tour for you in Oman, or prepare an itinerary for your visit. Due to other commitments, Riyadh is no longer contributing to the blog – but he still occasionally joins me on trips when his busy schedule allows it 🙂
I love traveling and learning about other cultures, and I consider myself a citizen of the world. I dream of one day taking some time off and spending a year (or more) exploring some the world and visiting some of the places I’ve saved under ‘travel inspirations’ folder. I shoot most of my photos on the blog with Nikon cameras (I currently use Nikon D5200 w/ Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 lens and D750 with 24-120mm f4 lens), you can check my Flickr account for non-Oman photos.
